Salesforce and Microsoft Launch New Partnership to Meet Increasing Customer Demands

Both Salesforce and Microsoft have now announced that they will expand their strategic partnership by migrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud to Microsoft Azure. The move is intended to meet growing customer demands, and it means that Salesforce will soon be using Microsoft Azure as its public cloud provider. The expanded partnership between Salesforce and Microsoft also includes new integrations that connect Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud with Microsoft Teams.

On November 14, both Salesforce and Microsoft announced plans to expand their strategic partnership by migrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud to Microsoft Azure. The move is intended to enable Salesforce to optimize the performance of Marketing Cloud to meet growing customer demands regarding data security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud will have a native integration with Microsoft Teams

To support its mutual customers who use both Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Teams, Salesforce will also build new integrations that connect Salesforce Sales and Service Clouds with Teams. The new integrations, which are scheduled to be ready by the end of 2020, will enable sales and service teams to access Salesforce directly within Microsoft Teams.

Salesforce and Microsoft – both companies are pleased with their partnership

Both Salesforce and Microsoft appear to be pleased with the expanded partnership. In apress release, they stated the following:

“At Salesforce, we’re incredibly focused on building trust and driving success for our customers. That’s why we’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Microsoft to bring together the leading CRM platform with Azure and Teams, so we can deliver incredible customer experiences,” say Marc Benioff and Keith Block of Salesforce, and Microsoft’s CEO seems to agree:

“In a world where every company is becoming a digital business, we want to enable every customer and partner to build amazing experiences on our leading platforms. By combining the strengths of Azure and Microsoft Teams with Salesforce, our goal is to help businesses harness the power of the Microsoft Cloud to better serve their customers,” says Satya Nadella.

We at Releye are also excited about this new partnership.

“We’re excited about this news, as we provide consulting services for both Salesforce and Microsoft platforms and are seeing increased demand from our clients for standard integrations,” says Charlotte Magne, Head of the Salesforce Business Area at Releye.
