Instagram's new AI initiative aims to stop online bullies

To stop the extensive bullying, that is taking place online, the major social media giant, Instagram, is developing new tools where Artificial inntelligence (AI) will detect and put a stop to bullying on their platform.

Today, Instagram has millions of users worldwide, many of whom are young. As a result, bullying has become a major problem on the platform in recent years. Now, the prompt “Are you sure you want to post this?” will appear when someone writes something inappropriate in the comments section on the platform.

“Tests of the feature have shown that some people don’t post mean comments if they’re given a chance to think it over,” writes Instagram head Adam Mosseriin a press release.

AI features put an end to bullying

Instagram has decided to use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze and identify abusive comments. When someone posts an abusive comment in the comment section on the platform, a prompt appears asking if they really want to send the abusive comment. The new anti-bullying feature was rolled out on the platform on Monday and has already been tested on users.
