Leadership and Growth – Examples of How We Address These Important Issues

Releye’s Salesforce business unit is growing by leaps and bounds. Satisfied customers, a close-knit team, and strong leadership are some of the key factors driving this growth.

Developing formal and informal leaders is a key priority in rapidly growing organizations. It is an issue that our Business Unit Manager, Charlotte Magne, has been working on for the past three years in her role as we’ve built out our Salesforce business unit. In a market where demand exceeds supply, it is especially important to ensure that we have the right skills in place and that we are committed to continuous learning.

To further strengthen our leadership, we enlisted the help of Novare and their mentorship program. The program pairs leaders and experts from various sectors with mentees so they can share their experiences. A mentorship program has also been established within the Salesforce business unit, which will be further developed over the course of the year.

To gain new insights and develop her skills, Charlotte joined the Novare Mentor Program this spring. Now that the program is coming to an end, we’re curious to hear what she’s taken away from it and how it went.

How did you come to join Novare’s Mentor Program?
– A lot has happened since I started at Releye six years ago, and both I and the organization have grown tremendously. One of our most important goals right now is sustainable growth, and to gain both the tools and support we need, we decided to enlist the help of the Novare Leadership Academy. I had previously heard about the program from friends and acquaintances and can highly recommend it.

You’ve been a mentee in Novare’s mentoring program for nearly 9 months now—what have you taken away from the experience?
– For one thing,I’ve expanded my network and gotten to know new, exciting people. I’ve also gained greater insight into how other companies operate and think about specific areas. It’s been incredibly valuable to see how things work outside of Releye, and I’ve done my best to incorporate those insights into our organization.

How has having an external mentor worked out?
– It’s worked out really well. Having a senior mentor outside of Releye has sparked many new ideas and allowed us to think outside the box; otherwise, it’s easy to get stuck in the rut of doing what we’ve always done. It’s also been great to be able to bounce ideas off someone and get feedback from a person who can offer both strategic advice and more hands-on guidance.

What are your most important values as a leader?
– I believe that commitment, responsiveness, and approachability are important qualities for a leader. It’s important to have the opportunity to be challenged, while also allowing room to make mistakes. Having clear goals and expectations is also essential for fostering good internal collaboration and driving change together.

As a leader, what are you most proud of in 2021?
– I’m very proud of our team and what we’ve accomplished together over the past year. Doubling revenue in a single year is usually tough, but it’s even harder during a pandemic year with remote work and all the challenges that come with it.

What are you looking forward to in 2022??
– At the start of the year, I took on the role of Vice President at Releye, and going forward I will be taking on even greater responsibility for our growth initiatives at the corporate level. I’m looking forward to this and see great opportunities ahead. We’re in the process of establishing an internal mentorship program to develop more leaders and share knowledge more easily, and demand for our services remains high—we’re hiring like never before, which is super exciting.
